The Daily Ups & Downs
By admin on Feb 6, 2008 in Uncategorized
Some advice (for you and for me) do not get worked up over your daily ups & downs with affiliate marketing profits.
It really does no good to check your stats for new sales every 30 minutes! In fact it does the opposite of good. It’s a distraction and a waste of time and worse yet it can put you in a bad mood for no real reason.
Part of the reason I’ve started my monthly profit posts is to try to keep me from getting caught up in the day to day fluctuations. I think at the end of each month is a good time to look over profits and to see what’s working and what isn’t.
Daily ups and downs are usually quite meaningless because of the small sample sizes that most of us are dealing with on a daily basis. I can go from a huge day to a small day and back again. It happens all the time. But when I am checking my stats constantly that I can allow myself to become quite depressed over having a day where I make a small amount of money and I can also allow myself to become overly excited about a big day!
It’s important to have your big picture goals in mind and to just work on what you need to work on, not getting distracted by how much money you’ve made (or not made) in the last few hours.
To give an example of the huge fluctuations I experience day to day, last Friday (January 31) I made just $30 in profit. I could have allowed myself to freak out. I could have allowed myself to think: “Damn I’m going to have to get a real job if this keeps up!” or I could just stay calm and keep working on the things I am working on. Luckily for the most part I am able to do that and keep moving forward. On Saturday (February 1) I had my biggest day of the year so far with profits exceeding $500.
The moral is: Don’t worry about the daily ups & downs when it comes to profits, traffic, or search rankings. There’s nothing much you can do about these things in most cases. Just keep working on what you are working on.

What are some of the other websites you own that are making you money?

Brock, Sorry… But I’m not going to go into those kind of specifics here for the most part. I may occasionally mention a specific site that I own and I do mention specific merchants that I make money with but I can’t give away everything I’m doing for many reasons.

This post is most helpful, as I must confess to checking my CB sales every 30 minutes! (Ok ok, i know it’s not good for your blood pressure! :p)
But seriously, has anyone experienced a slowdown over these past few days on Clickbank? It really isn’t clicking for me lately, and I can’t help but wonder what has gone wrong, has anything changed? Or is this what normally happens on St. Patrick’s Day? :O
