Linkvana Testing

As I mentioned in my last post, I recently signed up with Linkvana. Because of it’s high price ($147/month) I really need to do some testing that lets me know if the service is worth the price sooner rather than later. So much like with my article marketing experiment I am setting up some pages where I link to them with nothing but Linkvana to see what kind of results I get.

I should point out that I do not recommend this method as the best way to build backlinks, this is only a test. As soon as I’m done with my test I will send links to these pages with other methods as well. I think it’s a bad idea to rely on any one system for building backlinks. It makes sense to me to get backlinks from as many different sources as possible.

So what do I think of Linkvana so far? I definitely like the lay out and how easy it is to use. And I love the idea of it. It seems like a good way to get backlinks. Admittedly it may not be entirely “white hat” but I don’t think it’s “black hat” either. I don’t really see why it’s any different than submitting articles anywhere else, except that you have to be a member to do it. I guess some may think that’s a big distinction, but I don’t see it like that. You have to pay money to do a press release too – is that “black hat”? Certainly not.

But the ease of use and the idea don’t mean crap without real results to back it up. That’s why I test. As with the article marketing test, I’ll update when I have some meaningful results to share. In particular I am testing a Squidoo page I just created with a target keyword phrase (2 words) that has 113,000 “phrase” results in Google including 21K+ that have the phrase in the title.

UPDATE: I have not been particularly impressed with Linkvana’s results and I think for the amount of time I spend doing the posts and the price tag ($147/month) it’s just not the right fit for me so I have closed my account with them. I do recommend (and plan to remain a member with) Article Marketing Automation & Unique Article Wizard. The great thing about those services is that you only have to do one article to get back a lot of links on a lot of different websites. With Linkvana you have to do a new post for each and every link you want back. It becomes very tedious.

  1. My first results are in: I’ve put up 2 blogs/links for that Squidoo page and it’s not only indexed by Google – it ranks at #87 for a “phrase search” (that’s out of 113K pages.) I don’t think that’s bad for 2 links.

I’ll be adding more updates on it here in the comments.

  2. It’s climbed to #84 on the strength of those two links/posts. I have 2 more ready to go up.

  3. It’s climbed all the way up to #18 now on Google. That’s with 7 Linkvana links.

This is on a brand new Squidoo page… I’m betting it is far more effective on an older page.

But I think #18 on a new page out of 110K results from 7 posts is pretty good.

I’m going to put up a few more posts to see how high I can get it to climb.

  4. That page fell out of the results entirely after awhile. I cannot recommend Linkvana. For the amount of time & money that it takes – I didn’t see anything close to the kind of results that would make it a good investment.

  5. Everywhere I looked, I only found positive “reviews” of Linkvana, but I was hard pressed to find a recent positive review from someone who was NOT an affiliate. Very strange, but not really. I decided the pricetag was low enough, so I tried it: Horrible results. Their network was loaded with crappy sites, and definitely detected by Google as I saw significantly lower rankings for many of my target keywords, and a drop in PR for some sites as well. Highly NOT recommended. Thats an honest review.

  6. Daniel – yes… I don’t think Linkvana is a good investment. The sites are junk and it takes a lot of time making each individual post. I’ve had a lot more success with article distribution services.

  7. I totally agree. I used them and saw some results – moved from not indexed to #87 and then bam i was gone totally. I think its a total scam. I can’t even find anything linking back to the page that was designed as a test. Just another scam!
