Focus

I have written about the value of focus here before. I have to keep going back to it because it’s really a hard one for me. I have a very hard time just choosing one thing to work on and focusing on it. I have the problem of always coming up with new ideas I want to work on. Of always wanting to try something new. That can be good in some ways but it can also be very bad.

I think the most of the most successful people in the internet marketing world are able to focus on just one project at time and work at it until it’s completed. I think that my lack of focus and discipline has held me back from being more successful than I am. I’m thinking about this a lot lately as I’m going through some rather difficult times this month with slowing profits. I’m hopeful that it’s actually just a bit of bad luck and no true sign of things slowing down long term. Perhaps it’s just the season? But regardless, it reminds me that I really need to buckle down and have focus.

Today I’m working on completing the move of all of my eBay affiliate BANS stores from the CJ platform to the new EPN platform. I’ve moved many of them over already and am just getting to the rest of them now. I actually just moved one over and I’m very happy to find it’s much easier than I was worried it might be. The guys at BANS really do a great job on customer service and on keeping you updated (all updates are free.) I’m looking forward to eBay becoming a bigger income stream for me, I’m seeing some good signs of that happening now. (See there’s usually some good news mixed in with the bad.)

After I complete that and finish up some things I’ve been working on to promote OAInternet products more I’m going to move on towards working on the creation of my first ClickBank product as a vendor. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time and something I’m very excited about but also something I’m a bit overwhelmed by when I think about all of the work it’s going to take. And that’s where focus comes into play. I know that to be successful with this endeavor I will have to remain 100% focused on it until it’s completed.

Focus!

  1. A lot of internet marketers are pretty successful because they can create sites that don’t require too much upkeep, just gradual link building and content creation, but not nearly as intense as a blog in a competitive niche.

But yah, i struggle from focus too…. so it was nice to read this… Thanks for the comment on my blog, and feel free to instant message me… my screenname is on my blog.
