Finally On Wordpress

I’ve finally moved this blog over to Wordpress. I’ve been in the midst of moving over most of my blogs from Blogger to Wordpress for a while and I’ve finally got to this one. It’s a bit low on my priority list as it’s not a big money maker for me. That’s right, I seem to be one of the few people running an internet marketing blog who actually makes money online doing something other than talking about how much money he makes online!

What do I make money online with? Affiliate marketing. I have a lot of direct affiliate relationships that I do well with. These are my biggest money makers. I also make nice additional income with Clickbank, CJ, Commission Monster, and AdSense.

I mention AdSense last because it is one of the worst ways to make money online in my opinion. Certainly I don’t totally discount AdSense (you can see I have it all over this site at the moment) but it amazes me how many people seem to think AdSense is THE way to make money online. It really isn’t. There are some cases where it may be the best way to monetize a site but those cases are quite rare. For the most part I use it as a supplement to affiliate marketing which is easily my biggest money maker.

I can make more money on a single affiliate commission than I might make in a week on AdSense. For example the other day I made $245 for a single sale through Leading Edge Cash. I don’t understand why you would want to scrounge around for pennies when you can make the big bucks with affiliate marketing.

Back On Topic

I have a habit of rambling a bit, don’t I? The point of this post was Wordpress. I do think Wordpress is the best option for blogging, I wish I had started off with it from the get go! Blogger is just nowhere near as flexible and doesn’t have all of the cool plugins that Wordpress has. So yes, my suggestion is to not do what I did and waste time on Blogger, start your blog with Wordpress!

Get Your Own Domain

It kills me when people waste their time with blogspot (and other free hosting) blogs. Get your own domain! Use HostMonster.com and you’ll be able to host unlimited domains with one very inexpensive account. Each additional domain (with privacy included) is just an additional $10 per year. If you aren’t willing to pay $10/year for a domain then you are wasting your time anyway.
