EzineArticles.com is a great article marketing tool and I do recommend it. But they have definitely been very frustrating lately. They are getting really really picky about what they allow in their articles and probably most frustrating - there’s absolutely no consistency to what they allow and what they don’t allow. I’m not sure if they’ll continue to be THE place that people go to submit articles if things continue in this way. I understand that they want to have high quality articles in their directory - in the end that’s good for everyone. I guess I just wish there was more consistancy as to what a high quality article actually means.
Anyway - for the DP forum - My current EZine Articles stats:
As you can see my overall CTR is only about 10% but that’s really hurt by a few articles that have got a lot of view (around 2,000) with very few click-throughs. I’ve also very much improved my resource boxes over the last 30 or 40 submissions so my CTR is improving significantly. I’ve got a lot of articles now with a CTR in the 35 to 50% area.
Just looking back at this. I just submitted my 500th article on this account tonight. So that means I’ve submitted 360 articles since July 3. I’m sure I was hoping to have done even more, but that’s quite a few damn articles.
I’m not sure what I think about article marketing right now. Part of me thinks I need to figure out a way to outsource it more or get a different angle on it. But part of me thinks I really need to keep grinding out more articles or figure out how to make my articles more effective.
