Article Distribution Services + Clickbank Diet Product 2010 Case Study
By admin on Jan 1, 2010 in Article Marketing, Clickbank
It’s January 1, 2010 so it seems like the perfect time to start up a new case study. If you’ve read much of this blog then you probably know about the many “tests” that I’ve done to see how well the article distribution services that I use (Unique Article Wizard, Article Marketing Automation, Article Ranks, & Free Traffic System) build links and (most importantly) help with SERPS. I think those tests are valuable but I want to show how my system works in a more concrete way which is why I’m doing this new case study for 2010.
Let me set the scene. I’m going to be using Magic Article Rewriter to write & spin articles which are then submitted via all of the above mentioned article distribution service. These articles are going to link back to this website which promotes this clickbank diet product affiliate program.
Every time I do this (a submission via all distribution services) I will update in the comments. Right now I’m planning on doing about one per week but I may do more or less depending on how things go.
To make it clear that any benefits that come (as far as increased links, SERPS, traffic, and ultimately sales) are coming because of what I’m doing with these article distributions I’m not going to link to this website in any other way besides this.
Of course I must let you know where I’m at right now with this site to put it all in context.
In August of 2008 I started this site up and wrote about 40 EZineArticles which link to it. This was a bit of a test at the time to see how well EZA worked for making sales on it’s own. With this case study I’m planning on linking not just to the site itself but also to these EZAs which link to the site.
Below I’m including screen shots from Yahoo Site Explorer (for external inlink count), StatCounter (so you know what my traffic looks like now as a comparison) and my Clickbank affiliate account (which was created specifically to test the effectiveness of this particular website.) As the new results come in I’ll be updating with new screen shots.
External Links (Yahoo Site Explorer)

Current Traffic (StatCounter)

Current Sales

As you can see… I’ve currently got 305 external inlinks to the domain (according to Yahoo Site Explorer and you can easily check this out for yourself) the traffic is pretty weak (just 161 uniques last month) and the sales are just trickling in (although 3 sales in December from just 161 uniques to my site isn’t a bad conversion rate.) During these last three months I’ve had 308 hops to dayoff with 6 net sales (6 sales with no refunds.)
This gives me sort of a starting off point so I can see how much improvement I get from doing these submissions. This is where I’m at now. How much improvement will I see by using Magic Article Rewriter and then submitting via Unique Article Wizard, Article Marketing Automation, Article Ranks, & Free Traffic System?
Follow this case study and find out!
While this test may not be as exacting as my last ones, what’s good about it is that it’s a real world example. This is how I actually use these services and this is how I can make real money using them. You can use this example as proof that you too can succeed using this approach.

I just went through my first submission (MAR + all four of these article distribution services.) I’ll be updating here in the comments each time I make a submission.
I’ll be making new posts which talk about the results from this case study but to make it easy to find those new posts I’ll be posting links to them here in the comments as well.

Hey there!
I dont know if its just me or this is really true for everyone but when I used MAR to FTS, it doesnt work as smoothly.
There are some instances where the “|” show up where its not supposed to and som “}” as well.
Anyways, im following this case study.
Keep it up!

And oh, one more thing, im signing up under your affiliate link.
I normally refresh all my cookies before doing so (I normally do this on IM niches) but you’re one of those guys that really deliver.
Keep it up!
All the best,

I just did my second submission (I didn’t get to it last week due to some other things that came up.)
Not much to report so far. With this sort of approach you need a lot of patience. This is about long term quality search traffic.

Yan - I haven’t had any troubles with MAR to FTS.. so I’m not sure what you’re running into… It’s easy to make a mistake when you’re doing spinning though, I make more than my share… but I do find MAR helps me to avoid those mistakes a bit more often… before I was using MAR I had to do a ton of trouble shooting to figure out where my mistakes were. I definitely wouldn’t use FTS without MAR (in particular…) because FTS is a real pain in the ass to spin with that [spin]blah blah|blah[/spin] system… I hated having to write out [spin] and [/spin] over and over again. It’s almost like it’s bad on purpose so they can get people to buy MAR through their link.
It’s actually the really poor FTS spinning system that lead me to try out Magic Article Rewriter in the first place. I was annoyed at the time, but I’m actually glad now… it definitely worked out and MAR has helped me to be much more efficient with my article marketing.

When I first submitted to FTS, I ran into a lot of trouble. It was real pain in the behind as I was trying to find where the “{” and the “|” where coming from.
By the time I resolved everything which took me about an hour, when I clicked the “Submit” button, low and behold, my session expired! Everything gone. So I had to do it all over again.
Got too ticked off, never even bothered.
Ive got a new kidney info product which just started to sell this week just off EZA submissions.
Its not in clickbank yet but im turning it over there next month.
You can check it out and maybe look at the potential of promoting it?
I’ll be happy to give you my keywords, and 10 articles to start with and maybe offer you to keep 100% of the first 5 sales?
Im not running ppc with it yet so its pretty much wide open.
All the best,

Hi there, I’m following this thread as I’m into article marketing as well.
I’m using FTS too and if you really wanna convert the {text1|text2} to [spin]text1|text2[/spin] what you can do is
1. copy the entire text into microsoft word
2. press ctrl + H (this brings out the replace box)
3. under “find what”, input {
4. under “replace with”, input [spin]
5. click “replace all”
6. repeat steps 2 to 5 replacing } with [/spin]
That’s what I do whenever i send something into FTS. Hope it helps.

@Evan, thanks for tip man. I will test it out to see if its my MAR or its just FTS’s system thats at fault.
Nifty trick nonetheless, wouldve never guessed.
@zibblu, sent you an email.
All the best,
