$4490 Profits In January

I’m starting a new monthly tradition where I add up all of my profits (all expenses taken into account) at the end of each month. This will be a way where I can keep track of my growing success (I hope, anyway.)

So January has come to a close. My final tally for internet marketing in January was $4490 in profits. My biggest money maker was OAInternet. I made $2350 with them. As you might imagine I highly recommend them. Their affiliate interface isn’t as fancy as some of the others but they seem to be a step ahead of the competition where it matters mosts: conversions!

$4490 may seem like quite a lot to some of you who are new to internet marketing and it may seem like peanuts to some of you who have been more successful than I. Overall I am reasonably happy with the amount although obviously I would like it to be more. It is enough for me to live comfortably as I do not have expensive tastes (in fact I find the things that most people waste their money on to be quite stupid.) But I would like to earn more money so that I could take European vacations and the like and so that I have a greater feeling of financial security.

To give a bit of background I was really flying high in October of ‘07. I narrowly missed profits of $10,000 that month and had visions of even bigger months up ahead. Unfortunately for me right towards the end of October, Google came down hard on the search rankings of my biggest money making site. Yes I got slapped! I went from #1 for my most important keyword to not even in the top 100! And yes it has cost me a fortune in profits. The last few months I have been in the $4 to 5K range. Over the last couple of days that site has finally reappeared in the Google rankings. It’s currently on page 2, so I have my fingers crossed on that one.

The good thing for me is that when that big money making site went down for the count I had enough other income streams to keep me more than afloat. This is very important and something I definitely want to emphasize to anyone who wants to make their living working from home like I do. You need to have income coming in from various places because one internet income stream can go from a roaring river to a trickling creek over night.

My current goal is to get back to $10,000 a month, I hope to be there by the summer at the latest. But I have my sights set even higher than that. I have a very high (but I believe reachable) goal of $30,000/month by December. I have a lot of projects I am currently working on that I feel are very close to reaching a point they can make a *lot* of money.

Plus I figure if I set my goal high that if I fail to meet it, I may still be doing really well!
