$4360 Profits In March

March ($4360) was pretty similar to January ($4490) & February ($4002.)

Once again my top earner was OAInternet. I still don’t really understand why my conversion rates with them are so much higher than with other similar affiliate programs like Leading Edge Cash & More Niche. I don’t see any huge difference in their landing pages. Perhaps I’m experiencing affiliate theft with LEC & MN as they are more well known programs, and thus more likely to be targeted by affiliate thieves. I’m not sure what the reasons are really, I only have half baked theories. But whatever the reason - I’ve found OAInternet to be an incredibly successful affiliate program. As an added bonus they pay weekly (LEC pays monthly and MoreNiche biweekly)

I’m far off from my goal of $10,000/month by July and I don’t appear to be making any real progress as far as increased profits. In fact I made less in March than I made in January (by $130.) But I have seen some signs of things picking up recently. The past Monday-Sunday week was my best in week in some time, I think it was my most profitable week so far this year in fact ($1300 profits) and starting to see some more commissions from products/sites I wasn’t making commissions from before.

Goals For April

1. More Links. I’m hoping this ad network helps with this significantly, I’m unsure of the effect of it thus far. I’m also really trying to add more truly interesting original content to my sites as “link bait.”

2. Taxes. Well this isn’t so much a goal as something I have to do. As anyone who works for themselves knows, taxes are a real pain in the ass and I tend to put off doing them until they are due. I use TurboTax which does make things a bit easier.

3. New ClickBank Project. I don’t want to reveal all of the details of this yet. But I am working (with my bride-to-be) on creating a ClickBank product. It will be my first as a publisher (it’ll officially be in her name actually) and I’m excited about putting my skills as an affiliate to work on my own product finally. I am also excited about offering the best possible tools for affiliates to make sales with this product. And no, it’s not in the “make money online” niche!

4. OAInternet Marketing Ideas. I’ve been working on some new websites/ideas for marketing OAInternet products and I want to continue working on that.

5. Update All BANS Stores. EBay is moving from CJ to their own in-house affiliate program. As of May 1, the CJ links won’t work anymore so this is sort of like the taxes, more of a “have to do” rather than a “want to do.” Start your own eBay affiliate store -> www.BuildANicheStore.com

  1. Hi, I’m new here and am just wondering when you started your online business or how long it took you to get where you are now. Also, how much time have you put in and how much do you plan to put in in the future. Thanks for all the information, it’s so helpful and encouraging.

  2. Nancy I’ve been working for myself online for 3 years. I’ve gone up and down during that time… at my peak I made $10,000 in one month but I’ve also had months where I was barely making $2000. So … it’s been up and down. But I am working on a lot of long range projects that I feel will eventually bring in a lot more income… How much time do I put in? Well I’m not real consistent with that. Some weeks I work 10 hours and others I work 80!
